As the City’s Arts Advocate, John has been working with a number of organizations to plan a screening of the documentary “Lowdown Tracks” at the Bloor Cinema on Monday, February 22, 2016.  This event pilots a new program dubbed “Arts for Social Action,” an opportunity to use the arts as an agent of building awareness and affecting change on important social issues.
Director Shelley Saywell’s celebrated documentary showcases the music and stories of those living on the margins of Canadian society. The film’s talented street musicians will be in attendance. Mayor John Tory will be speaking following the film.
