Cultura Opens July 4

Cultura Opens July 4

The Cultura Festival, now in its fifth season, has grown into Toronto’s best neighbourhood festival. It opens July 4 and runs for four consecutive Friday evenings in Mel Lastman Square.  What began as my simple effort to create a community gathering  now has a sizeable budget provided by many local sponsors and a grant from the Government of Ontario.

Organizers presenting the event include North York Arts and the Toronto Arts Foundation.  This year, we are also proud to be adding Manifesto and Lula Lounge to our list of programming partners.

If you enjoyed Cultura last summer, you’ll like it even more this year.  If you’ve never been out, come and see what you’ve been missing.  All performances are free, as is the weekly movie.  Our amazing international food vendors provide a great product at a reasonable price.  Come early and enjoy a distinctive outdoor meal while attending the festival.

Each week Cultura also supports a local charity, with all donations going directly to them.

Over the next month, we will be e-mailing weekly programming line-ups so you won’t miss any of the great action.  You can also find all of the programming online on the Cultura website.
