Yonge Street Watermain Update

Yonge Street Watermain Update

Many residents are now aware that the City of Toronto will be replacing the watermain along Yonge Street between Finch Avenue and Sheppard Avenue.  This project will improve the water distribution system to the area and improve drinking water quality.  Though the resulting construction will be a significant inconvenience to our community, in order to minimize the disruption, Willowdale residents agreed at an open meeting this past spring that the work will take place in two phases.  The first, between Finch and Park Home Avenue will commence at the end of August.  Phase 2, between Park Home and Sheppard will commence at the beginning of October.  It is expected that the full project will be completed by May 2014.

The City of Toronto has organized an information night, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 7 – 8:30 PM at in the Council Chamber of the North York Civic Centre (5100 Yonge Street).  An on-site Field Ambassador from the project management company will be present to address concerns about the construction.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please consider attending.  The field ambassador can otherwise be reached at 416-659-0089 or torontowatermain@rvanderson.com
