Peter Paul Rubens and the Baroque Imagination

Ethan Matt Kavaler, Director, Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies and Professor of Art History, University of Toronto, will be giving a lecture on famed Flemish artist, Peter Rubens.

Rubens was one of the most sought-after artists for mythological subjects, grand political allegories, and powerful altarpieces in the service of the Catholic Church.

This program complements the Early Rubens exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
