Can’t wait for Cultura? Music lovers can come out to Mel Lastman Square this Friday, June 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM to play, sing and listen to music.
Make Music (aka “Fête de la Musique”) is a free musical celebration that takes place each year on June 21 – the first day of summer – in communities around the world. Since its creation in France in 1982, the event has spread to more than 110 countries and 460 cities. On this day, free concerts take place in public outdoor spaces. In Toronto, Make Music has been celebrated since 2004.
This year I have partnered with organizers Alliance Française, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde, the Toronto Public Library and North York Arts to bring this festival to North York. For more information, visit their website.
