Hometown Masks for Hometown Heroes

Hometown Masks for Hometown Heroes

Dr. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, recently changed her advice on wearing a non-medical mask, even if you have no symptoms.  Her advice is that a non-medical mask, “is an additional measure that you can take to protect others around you.”

This is especially important in situations where you may not be able to practice physical distancing, such as at a grocery store or on public transit. “A non-medical mask can reduce the chance of your respiratory droplets coming into contact with others or land on surfaces,” Tam noted.

Hometown Masks for Hometown Heroes coordinates an effective, and fabulous production line for reusable face masks and scrub caps. These are not N95 masks or ASTM level masks. Rather they are washable fabric that help to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Their tasks include donating materials, sewing, and driving.
